We are proud to continue to have RotaKids here at Abbey school, who will work closely with Darlington Rotarians Nigel Little and Angela Stephenson and Mrs Folkes to support fundraising and community based projects across the year.
Why have RotaKids at Abbey?
RotaKids is focussed on helping children become responsible citizens who work towards making our school, local and global community a better place; developing leadership skills, self-esteem, empathy and responsibility.
This year we want to continue to spread kindness and help people in our school, local community, across the nation and even across the world.
This year the RotaKids will continue to meet every 3 weeks on a Tuesday lunchtime and give regular updates to the rest of the school in class and in assemblies. In September, class elections were held to replace the year 6 Rotakids who have left and in year 3 to elect members new to the junior school.

We’ve been collecting food for Harvest Festival and have donated it to the Basement Café Community Hub at Grange Road Baptist Church. They offer free hot food and drinks, and emergency food parcels to those in need who live in the Darlington area.
